On Top of the World

I was lucky that the sun moved right in front of the sun for that part of the panorama, the mountain straight ahead in the middle of the frame is called Storhornet if I remember right, and the fjord to the left is the one that goes to Geiranger a very famous fjord here in norway. The mountain range is quite impressive though it is not the great alps of italy or switzerland, or the dolomites of lofoton or chile. Still love them. This photo is right above the ski center in stranda.

Winter Wonderland

This is from last years valentines day when I went alone outdoors and stayed the night in the million star hotel (my tent). I witnessed orange, pink and yellow northern lights for the first time that night as well as a great view of the milky way, well as good as you can that time of year. Many stars and the nice outdoor noises, a light breeze coming down the mountain side, the trickling of water entering the lake from two different rivers, ice cracking and splitting, birds chirping, branches cracking and the other odd noises of the night out in nature. Ive been posting mainly other photos that dont look so very winter wonderland that people like seeing of nice snow coats over nature. However this year Ive had little time to enjoy the winter, which is also my favourite season. Enjoy this throwback then!

My Town in Winter

Today I looked out my window close to sundown and notice the sky had cleared up and was promising a nice sunset, we just had fresh snow, so everything was beautifully covered in white, and I saw my opportunity so i grabbed some snow gear, tripod and camera and hiked up the first leg of the mountain, right above our town. takes about 20 minutes to get up there, i think, I wasn't counting. my house is towards the middle of the frame across from the shipyard. I wish I had gone up a bit earlier so I would have time to take photos of some of the trees on the way up. but time was short, since I started going up while golden hour had already started and was fading into blue, however the more colorful sunset it is closer to blue hour. I was a bit afraid I would miss the peak of colors, however I made it in time. This is part of a seriesI Ive taken in all of the seasons now except spring, which is coming soon. Pastel Mountain Tops

Last weekend Went on a snowboarding trip for 6 hours on saturday and 4 on sunday, was great weather, since having all the equipment on my back added quite a bit of weight and made me unbalanced I ended up taking a bit of the gear out of the camera bag, and trying to shoot everything without a tripod, which goes alright when there is snow everywhere and there is so much more light. Even though this looks like long exposure I actually just used a motion blur in Photoshop to smooth out the clouds, which I found more appealing. Standing Along

Today we drove by this location twice to our destination and the way back on the way back I quickly went out and took the photo I've been waiting to do for a long time. Enjoy the View

My eyes Wonder and my goal on trips is to enjoy the whole experience not just the goal of getting to a certain location, though the time of a location and light might be crucial. In those cases that is the priority, But many times I like to look at the small details along the trip and look at the views and capture the beauty along the way. I had planned for this image to a be a Panorama but I liked it alot as just the single fram and I found it quite "boss" and the colors just working the right way for me so I gave this image a go at my Black and White techniques and Like the result a lot! Mimicking the Statue from Rio

Up on the top of haramsøya in the morning we gazed off into the distance in the of the beautiful sunnmøre alpene, sunrise, warm clouds and a fresh cold morning. My friend stood up on the rock that stands up, to make a great scene from foreground to the background.
